Combining Coaching & Therapy is a transformational, holistic approach in achieving sustainable results

Combining coaching and psychotherapy can be a powerful approach for individuals who are looking to make changes in their lives and address both their emotional and practical needs. Some potential benefits of this approach include:

1. A holistic approach: Combining coaching and psychotherapy allows individuals to address both their emotional and practical needs in a holistic way. This can be especially useful for individuals who are looking to make changes in their lives and need support in both areas.

2. Increased self-awareness: Both coaching and psychotherapy can help individuals gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their motivations. This can be especially helpful for those who are looking to make lasting changes in their lives and need to understand the underlying causes of their behaviors and patterns.

3. Greater flexibility: Combining coaching and psychotherapy allows individuals to tailor their treatment to their specific needs and goals. This can be particularly helpful for those who are looking to make changes in multiple areas of their lives and need support in more than one area.

4. Improved outcomes: By addressing both emotional and practical needs, individuals who receive a combination of coaching and psychotherapy may be more likely to achieve their goals and make lasting changes in their lives.

What is the difference between Coaching and Therapy?

Therapy and coaching are both forms of professional support that aim to help individuals improve their lives or achieve specific goals. However, there are some key differences between the two approaches:

1. Scope of work: Therapy tends to focus on addressing psychological and emotional issues, such as depression, anxiety, and trauma. Coaching, on the other hand, is more focused on helping individuals achieve specific goals and make progress in their personal or professional lives. It is important to note that a qualified therapist can do coaching work, but a qualified coach is not trained to do therapy work.

2. Nature of the relationship: Therapists often follow a set of ethical guidelines and may use specific techniques or approaches to help clients work through their issues. While some therapists may have a more formal (clinical) relationship, Elle adopts the person-centered approach where therapists and clients are collaborators in a partnership. She believes all the resources are already within the client. Coaching, on the other hand, either is very tailored specific to client's needs or follow a specific program developed by the coach him/herself.

3. Tool & techniques: Clinical hypnotherapy, EFT, solution-focused therapy are science based, backed up by medical research with standardised methodology and protocols. They are proven to be affective in addressing post traumatic disorder, depression, addiction, phobia, anxiety and other conditions. Coaching on the other hand, depends on coach's experience and tools without medical research. Both are completely safe as it is drug free.

3. Length of time: Counseling may involve a longer-term commitment, as it often involves addressing deep-seated issues that may take time to resolve. Coaching, on the other hand, is often more focused on short-term goals and may involve a shorter time frame. Elle believes in a gentle yet empowering approach, which allows clients to self regulate with the equipped tools in the shortest time possible.

Overall, therapy and coaching are both valuable tools that can help individuals improve their lives and achieve their goals. The combination approach allows both depth and width for lasting results.
